Stephen McGlenn is a 7th generation settler Canadian, and grew up on a small family farm in Treaty 7 Territory in Southern Alberta. Stephen went to the University of Lethbridge to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies. From there he relocated to Coast Salish Territory to complete his Master of Arts in Indigenous Community Planning at UBC. Since then, Stephen has worked in the field of First Nation Lands Governance and Land Use Planning. Stephen lives and works on the unceded Territory of the Leq’á:mel First Nation (LFN), serving as LFN’s Director of Lands and Natural Resources Governance. Stephen became interested in music at an early age and music has always been a big part of his life. Stephen plays in a heavy metal band with his wife, Bonnie, who is a member of Leq’á:mel First Nation. Together, Bonnie and Stephen have also formed Elíyá Consulting, which aims to provide advice and support to Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations regarding Community Planning & Governance.
