Dr. Mike Kennedy is a distinguished Canadian entrepreneur, team leader, and an adept information systems designer. Dr. Kennedy’s expertise lies at the intersection of technology and environmental sustainability, where he has made significant strides in information systems design, early-stage artificial intelligence, communication networks, and distributed sensor systems.

In 2010, Dr. Kennedy founded Green Analytics Corp., marking the beginning of a series of successful entrepreneurial ventures. He subsequently launched Green Metrics Technologies in 2018, the Carbon Guild in 2022, and Precision Analytics Ltd. In 2023. These ventures reflect his commitment to leveraging technology for environmental betterment and his ability to bring distributed teams together into successful cross-functional partnerships.
Dr. Kennedy’s academic contributions reflect his deep commitment to solving real problems with a practitioner’s approach. Dr. Kennedy developed the Urban Data Lab at the University of British Columbia, focusing on the deployment of 5G communication systems, IoT technologies for environmental sustainability and machine learning. As a Research Associate at UBC, he continues to push the boundaries of knowledge and application in his field in the Data Analytics and Intelligent Systems Lab. Dr. Kennedy has contributed to over 35 publications in both academic and industry circles. His educational background is as diverse as his professional achievements, holding a BSc. and MSc. in Forestry and Economics from the University of New Brunswick, and a Ph.D. in Business (Management Information Systems) from Washington State University.
Currently residing in Vancouver, B.C., Mike practices ‘van life’ where he runs, hikes, paddles, climbs and camps in nature with his partner and kids.
