Senior Vice President, Project Development, First Nations Major Projects Coalition

Barry Vickers leads the First Nations Major Projects Coalition project development services. He focuses on providing direct support to FNMPC members on large-scale natural resource and infrastructure projects. Barry works with FNMPC members to help design an approach to project development that advances community interests while maximizing value for the First Nation.

Barry has extensive experience working on natural resource and infrastructure projects with a particular emphasis on electrical infrastructure, energy pipeline, mining, and green energy projects. He has direct experience in negotiating commercial agreements for Indigenous nations with large-scale, private sector proponents and governments, including equity ownership agreements. Barry’s wealth of knowledge and experience on major project financing, contracting, procurement, legal, risk management, technical, and business analysis are central to FNMPC’s project development services.

Barry has spent most of his career working in First Nations project development and has also operated his own successful medium size business which brings a valuable perspective to the work he performs on behalf of FNMPC members. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Economics.
