Coordinator, SevenGen

Waasekom is turtle clan Anishinaabe maternally from Saugeen First Nation and the Kettle & Stoney Point First Nations on the southeastern shores of Lake Huron.

As an advocate for the agency and spiritedness of the Water, Waasekom led 5 ceremonial canoe journeys around the Great Lakes.

From these journeys, many emergences arose that led Waasekom to begin establishing an Agency for Water, an Indigenous-led process to advance decolonized water governance.

Waasekom is also a gentle disruptor, storyteller & systems navigator with a big heart. He is currently residing as an invited guest on the Capilano reserve and pursuing his spirit dream along mouth of the Skeena River.
