Shelby Hart

Director, Clean Investment, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, Government of British Columbia

Shelby Hart (she/her) is the Director of Clean Investment for the B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. She is responsible for the CleanBC Industry Fund, which supports the development, trial and deployment of projects that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from large industrial operations in British Columbia. Her foundational experience in industrial operations and greenhouse gas reductions came through engineering positions with several major Canadian/global oil and gas and mining companies. Professional expertise led to involvement with several innovative technology development projects focused on greenhouse gas reduction and water optimization. Shelby transitioned from industry to the BC public service in 2018 and has been with the Climate Action Secretariat since 2019.

Outside of work, she is a certified Paddle Canada instructor and loves to travel with her husband and toddler. Along with their dog and 1977 Boler, they can be found road tripping to a great paddle location, surf beach or hiking trail.
