Laura Swaffield

Environmental Impact Lead, MEC

Laura (she/her) is the Environmental Impact Lead at MEC (or Mountain Equipment Company), working to minimize the environmental impact of the company’s operations. Her role covers impact areas including climate, waste, and chemistry. In 2023, Laura guided MEC through the validation of their net zero targets by the Science Based Targets initiative. She plays a key role in MEC’s decarbonization strategy through engaging with suppliers across the value chain and working with partners throughout the industry. Laura holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters in Climate Change from the University of Waterloo.
