The Baroness Worthington, Crossbench Peer, House of Lords

Baroness Bryony Worthington was created a life peer in 2011 and sits on the Crossbenches. She was the lead author of the UK Climate Change Act 2008 and has over 25 years of experience working on climate, energy and environmental policy in the NGO and public sectors, as well as in the private sector for Scottish and Southern Energy. Bryony has been the Founding Director of Sandbag (now Ember), a non-profit campaign group focused on the EU’s carbon markets; Executive Director for Europe at the Environmental Defense Fund and Co-Director of the Quadrature Climate Foundation. She currently runs her own consultancy business and has board level roles, in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors, including Deputy Chair of the board of trustees at WWF-UK.
