The Montreal Call, endorsed by representatives from governments and organizations worldwide, offers hope in the face of the climate crisis and biodiversity loss. It encourages the exploration of the underlying causes of these crises during future Conference of the Parties (COP) meetings on biodiversity and climate. This event answers that call. It will bring together leaders, experts, and activists for in-depth discussions on solutions, best practices, and innovative initiatives arising from the International Conference on the Causes of Biodiversity Loss (COP15). The presence of internationally renowned speakers will underscore the importance of global action and they will frame the discussions within the context of ongoing negotiations at COP28 to identify concrete solutions for bridging the issues between climate and biodiversity COPs.

L’Appel de Montréal, endossé par des représentant·e·s des gouvernements et des organisations du monde entier, offre un espoir face à la crise climatique et à la perte de biodiversité. Il encourage l’exploration des causes sous-jacentes de ces crises lors des futures conférences des parties (COP) sur la biodiversité et le climat. Dans cette optique, cet événement réunira des leaders, des expert·e·s et des militant·e·s pour des discussions approfondies sur les solutions, les meilleures pratiques et les initiatives novatrices issues de la COP15. La présence d’intervenant·e·s de renommée internationale soulignera l’importance d’une action mondiale. Le panel inscrira également les discussions dans le contexte des négociations actuelles de la COP28 afin d’identifier des solutions concrètes pour rapprocher les enjeux des COP sur le climat et la biodiversité.
