In April 2018, the Government of Canada announced the formation of the Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance to consult with Canada’s financial market participants on issues related to sustainable finance. In October 2018, the Panel released their interim report, followed by a series of consultations throughout the fall. Through their consultations, the Expert Panel heard time and again that it is difficult within an interconnected system for individuals and companies to act alone. A more systemic, proactive, coordinated and strategic approach is required by industry leaders to facilitate the required investment in resilience and mitigation. After the Expert Panel delivers its recommendations to policymakers, how can all actors be encouraged to follow through and how can progress be measured? Join the discussion in this interactive session with the panel members.
