Sandra Odendahl is a passionate and respected voice in promoting sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada. She believes that businesses can and should be a force for good — contributing to economic prosperity, environmental stability, and vibrant, inclusive communities. She leads BDC’s corporate sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, and social impact strategy and programs, ensuring the bank delivers against its targets and helping entrepreneurs on the path to a more sustainable future. Before joining BDC, Sandra led enterprise-wide sustainability, community investment and social finance programs at Scotiabank and RBC.

A committed community volunteer, she has served on the boards of many organizations, and is currently serving with the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board, Canadian Climate Institute, Transition Accelerator and NEXT Canada. Sandra holds a Master of Applied Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and is a CFA charter holder.
