Neil Kjelland

Assistant Deputy Minister, Affordability, Government of Alberta

Neil Kjelland is the Assistant Deputy Minister of Affordability for the Government of Alberta. In this role, he is responsible for advancing nuclear priorities within the province, leading efforts to address cost of living increases, and advocating for utility consumers. Previously, Neil has held positions at the City of Edmonton leading municipal solid waste processing operations and in the Government of Alberta leading infrastructure development and government procurement in a variety of contexts. Neil holds an MBA from the University of Alberta, an MSc in Geological Engineering from Queen’s University, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta.
