Dr. Ponti is Vice President – Educational Outreach at the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). In her role, Lisa engages with faculty and students to develop awareness of GARP, the career paths available to students in risk, and the demand for technical knowledge and skills applicable to the profession. Recent discussions and presentations have focused on the growing need for sustainability and climate risk knowledge. Integration of climate risk in traditional risk exposures is top of mind at the Board and senior management levels. Risk managers across all industries will need to be prepared as global adoption of new regulations, reporting frameworks, and disclosure requirements comes into focus. Prior to joining GARP, Lisa was a commercial banking professional and long-time university instructor. She leveraged these experiences in her initial role within the Global Certifications and Risk Education Programs team, supporting development of the Financial Risk Management (FRM) Exam. Dr. Ponti holds an MBA in Finance and a Doctorate in Business Education from New York University. She earned GARP’s certificate in Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) In April 2022.
