Huma joined TD Insurance in 2015, her role has evolved since then from one focused entirely on government and industry relations encompassing national issues across both the Life and Health and General Insurance businesses, to a hybrid role including leadership of sustainability initiatives, to her current role leading the sustainability portfolio across the organization, including advocacy efforts related to the file. She spent a number of years leading and managing communications for a variety of organizations in the private, not-for-profit and government sectors before joining TD in 2012. Huma has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and a Post-graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). In her spare time, Huma offers volunteer communications support to a variety of activities and agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network, and is a mentor through the International Association of Business Communicators. A passionate environmental advocate, Huma is a member of the Board of the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and a Climate Reality Leader supporting the education and advocacy efforts of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.
