Helen Bobiwash, FPCA, FCMA, CAFM, GCB.D, CCB.D, ICD.D Helen Bobiwash is proud to be the Indigenous Aware Advisor for Cambium Indigenous Professional Services (CIPS) Inc offering Indigenous awareness training for corporations. She is Anishinabe kwe from the Thessalon First Nation in Northern Ontario and mother to her 21-year-old son and four bonus daughters. With a career spanning 35 years in Indigenous services, Helen’s experience has focussed on strengthening community wellbeing and providing independent accounting services in First Nations and Indigenous organizations across Ontario. Her services have reached First Nation administrations, economic development corporations, community-based health services, education self-government, and child welfare agencies. She has represented First Nations in fiscal negotiations with the federal and provincial governments. Helen is passionate about empowering leadership to understand and use financial information to achieve their vision for the future. She is dedicated to financial empowerment of Indigenous people through accounting research, development of relevant financial resources and facilitating conversations about using money with intention. Helen is experienced in the governance of financial stewardship, audit committee, risk management and strategic planning. She has extensive insight into Indigenous relations and is committed to advancing Indigenous reconciliation. Helen is honoured to serve on the Board for the Build.
