Geoffrey Macdonald is CFO at IKEA Canada, a world-leading home furnishing retailer. For more than 45 years, Canadians have welcomed IKEA into their homes and they have been strong supporters of the IKEA brand, product range and its vision “to create a better everyday life for the many people”.
Geoff’s expansive portfolio includes oversight and management of the Business Navigation, Financial Controlling & Tax Management, Business Risk & Compliance and Legal & Governance areas of the business, with a primary focus on driving performance on social, environmental and financial objectives – helping to make IKEA more People and Planet positive.
Still a member of the Law Society of Ontario, and prior to his time at IKEA, he was a practising lawyer in-house and at Osler LLP in the areas of corporate/commercial, anti-trust and foreign investment law prior.
Geoff holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Laws from York University’s Osgoode Hall. He lives in Oakville, Ontario.
