Chris Abraham has been directing The Assembly with Porte Parole since its first iteration in 2018. He is the Artistic & General Director of Crow’s Theatre and has been the driving force of the company since the 2008-2009 season.
Chris’ directorial work includes Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, Rosmersholm, The Master Plan, Uncle Vanya, Julius Caesar, The Boy in the Moon, The Wedding Party, The Watershed, The Seagull, Seeds, Eternal Hydra (Crow’s Theatre); Much Ado About Nothing, Tartuffe, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, The Matchmaker, The Little Years, For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again (Stratford Festival); One Man Two Guvnors, Cyrano de Bergerac (Shaw); Winners & Losers (Soho Rep); I, Claudia (Tarragon); Antigone, The Lesson (Soulpepper).
Chris Abraham has been the recipient of the John Hirsch and Ken MacDougall Awards, as well as the recipient in 2013 of the Siminovitch Prize, the most prestigious and valuable performing arts prize in Canada. He is past Co-Director of the National Theatre School of Canada Directing Program.
