Barbara Zvan is the President and CEO of the University Pension Plan (UPP), serving over 41,000 members with a focus on lifelong pension security and service excellence. Named both Canada’s CEO and Corporate Citizen of the Year by The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business in 2022, she is a leading advocate for defined benefit pensions and sustainable finance. Previously, she was Chief Risk and Strategy Officer at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she helped transform it into a global leader over her 25-year tenure. Barbara is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, holds an ICD.D designation, and has a Master of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
