Alex Ivanovici is a Canadian actor, director, and documentary theatre creator whose career spans film, television, theatre, and video games. He is the co-founder of Porte Parole, a Montreal-based theatre company dedicated to producing original documentary plays that engage audiences in critical conversations about contemporary life. Since its inception in 2000, Porte Parole has earned national and international acclaim for its innovative approach to storytelling, capturing the voices and experiences of real people to reflect the complexities of our shared humanity.
One of Alex’s most celebrated achievements is co-creating The Assembly series, an ongoing documentary theatre project that confronts the challenges of political and ideological polarization. Through recorded, verbatim dialogue, The Assembly stages conversations between individuals with opposing views on divisive issues such as immigration, climate change, and freedom of speech. The series has been performed across Canada and globally, with adaptations in Germany, Brazil, Lithuania, and the United States making it a vital platform for fostering empathy and dialogue.
In film and television, Alex has appeared in notable productions such as 300, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Being Human, Longing and Blood & Treasure. He is also an accomplished voice actor, bringing characters to life in critically acclaimed video games like Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Alex extends his gratitude to the GLOBE Series for presenting The Assembly: Energy in Canada, highlighting the role of the arts in addressing critical societal and environmental challenges.
