The Prevailing Theme for GLOBE Forum 2018 was ‘Disrupting Business As Usual’
From March 14-16, 2018, 2,000 business and government leaders from over 50 countries came together to network and advance global business and sustainability agendas. A mix of armchair dialogues, roundtables, salon-style gatherings, lively debates, SPARK talks and opportunities for active participation made GLOBE Forum a very exciting place to be.
Visionaries, entrepreneurs, policy makers, Fortune 500 leaders and countless others who are solving big challenges and creating new opportunities gathered.
The State of our Oceans
Oceans are the lifeblood of planet Earth and humankind. They flow over nearly three-quarters of our planet, and hold 97% of the planet’s water. They produce more than half of the oxygen in the atmosphere, and absorb the most carbon from it. They comprise the largest ecosystem on Earth, harbouring tremendous biodiversity and essentially supporting all living organisms on Earth.
In March, GLOBE Forum put a spotlight on the plight of our oceans, and the role business, government, and civil society can play to protect them.
The GLOBE Forum 2018 Program was shaped by the following tracks:
- Business and Competitiveness
- Cities and Infrastructure
- Energy and Technology
- Materials and Resources
- Finance and Investment
- Policy and Trade
