Vice President, Government and External Affairs, Americas, BMW Group
Glenn Schmidt is responsible for government and external affairs for the Americas Region within the BMW Group. Next to the company’s US representative offices in Washington, DC and Sacramento, his position encompasses the government and external affairs functions for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean as well as Brazil.
Glenn has over ten years of experience with the BMW Group in a wide range of disciplines. Prior to this responsibility, he was based in Munich and in charge of steering governmental affairs as well as sustainability communications for the BMW Group. Glenn joined BMW as an internal sales and marketing consultant and was later responsible for coordinating BMW’s EV field trial activities world-wide during the initial phase of
project i, the initiative behind BMW i.
Prior to joining BMW, Glenn was a project manager specialized in the automotive industry with Horváth and Partners Management Consultants. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University in West Lafayette, USA. Schmidt is originally from Vancouver, Canada, where he completed his undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University.
