IETA Multi-Sector Carbon Market Dialogue (Invite Only) Linking our Bottom-Up World: From Paris to Vancouver

Date: Tuesday, March 1

Time: 8:00am - 11:00am

Location: Fairmont Waterfront - Malaspina Room

Format: GLOBE Week Event

Multi-sector dialogue provides a unique opportunity to “download” and discuss the latest insights, resources, and outlooks regarding the world’s swiftly-evolving carbon policy and market landscapes. Given the leadership, location, and near-term climate plan developments in Canada – and North America broadly (e.g., California, Washington, Oregon, Mexico, RGGI) – a central theme of IETA’s GLOBE dialogue will focus on effectively building and enabling alignment & linkages across the currently fragmented North American carbon landscape.   The format will be brief presentations and interactive dialogue amongst a range of leading business, government, NGO, multi-lateral, and academic experts and practitioners. The group will delve into future “top-down” (UNFCCC/federal) meets “bottom-up” cooperative carbon policy/market linkage scenarios. The format also allows for sector and region-specific insights and “case studies” to be shared and candidly discussed, with a view to capturing what to follow or tailor (and what best to avoid) while building the most effective – and cost-effective – carbon pricing solutions.  Hosted by the International Emissions Trading Association.  To learn more about this invite-only dialogue, contact Katie Sullivan at Sullivan@ieta.org
