Topic Speakers

Pernille Mette Overbye is the Managing Director of Ramboll Energy Systems in Canada supporting the District Energy activities in North America and currently lives in Ontario, Canada.

Prior to this Pernille was head of the international district energy department in Copenhagen and service line coordinator for this area within Ramboll’s global practice. Pernille has very extensive energy process-design experience and over 20 years’ experience within the energy and district heating market.

Throughout her career Pernille has had focus on the international market in particular the UK and America and has spent 10 years living and working in the UK. Pernille is specialized in CHP and district heating, and she has been project manager for a wide range of projects, including feasibility studies, detailed design projects, O&M tasks.

In addition to the international project work, Pernille has for over 10 years been involved in detailed design and overall project management of the Ramboll team working for the Metropolitan Copenhagen Heating Transmission Company, CTR and the Western Copenhagen Transmission Company, VEKS. ‚Äč

Additionally, Pernille’s skills portfolio and solid background led to her appointment as Board member of the Association of Decentralised Energy (ADE) in the UK and for a number of years Chairman for the Network Heat Forum, where she also has lead the working group which looked at standards and regulation and she briefly chaired the policy working group.



Mark S. Rudolph is President and CEO of justenvironment, his own public affairs consulting firm that specializes in “just environment” issues.

Through justenvironment, Mr. Rudolph ran the Clean Air Renewable Energy (CARE) Coalition. Today, his clients include a range of some of the largest corporate and ENGO organizations which operate in the environment and energy space.

In his political life, Mr. Rudolph was Chief of Staff to the Ontario Minister of the Environment, the Honourable James Bradley, from 1985-1989. At the federal political level, he was Chief of Staff in 1983-84 to the Honourable Charles Caccia, Federal Minister of the Environment.

His career also includes building some of the most impressive environmental practices at a premier government relations and corporate communications firm. Mr. Rudolph is also the Vice Chair of FORCE (Friends of Rural Communities and the Environment) – Stop the Quarry.
