The sharing economy is changing the world and quickly disrupting old line industries. www.zipments.ca is a disruption of the same day courier industry using casual, part time workers or “lifestyle couriers” who are “going that way” to deliver retail goods from stores and personal deliveries. Peter joined zipments.ca as their CFO in 2013.
Peter is an experienced leader in strategy, turnarounds and corporate finance. Starting his career as an investment banker, Peter began buying into and leading companies through survival and growth by innovation. His work successfully commercializing a non-chemical, environmentally safe grain protectant led him and his team around the world, becoming a thought leader in the area of food security and ozone protection. For this work, Peter and the team were given Canada’s first Federal Partners in Technology Transfer Award. He also was an active member of the US-Canada Working Group for Ozone Protection.
Peter is recognized for his creativity and innovation in the area of economic, social and environmental impact in Canada and internationally. He recently founded an NGO called Women in Arms Society, whose mission is to support education and create opportunity for women, and its first projects launched successfully in the Philippines in early 2013.
Also in 2013, Peter joined UBC’s Sauder School of Business’s ISIS Research Centre. Peter’s research interest is social capital formation and how we as a country make a difference in the world.
Peter has an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and a BSc in Chemistry, from the University of Western Ontario.
