An award-winning engineer, Jeanette Southwood is a Principal at Golder Associates, a global, employee-owned firm of more than 8,000 around the world. Golder delivers solutions that help our clients achieve their sustainable development goals by providing a wide range of independent consulting, design and construction services in our specialist areas of earth, environment and energy.
At Golder, Jeanette leads the Canadian Urban Development & Infrastructure Sector and the Global Sustainable Cities teams integrating the Real Estate, Federal, Municipal, Finance, Insurance, Legal, Rail, Waste, Water, and Transportation sectors. One area of focus for her multi-disciplinary global and national team members is the strategic integration of cutting-edge international innovation and knowledge into value creating local solutions for public and private clients. For more than 20 years, she has directed and participated in numerous projects related to urban intensification and the sustainable revitalization of communities. A dedicated volunteer on several Boards over the years, Jeanette is a Fellow of Engineers Canada, a recipient of the Province of Ontario “Leading Women Building Communities Award”, and was honoured as one of Canada’s Clean50 for 2014.
