|Paradigm Environmental Technologies Inc.|
|Province / State|
|Paradigm is a waste-to-energy company at early commercial stage. Paradigm’s patented MicroSludge® technology is used at industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants to pre-treat sludge, a waste by-product, to increase both the rate and the extent that sludge is converted into biogas in anaerobic digesters.
MicroSludge avoids large capital expenditures (fewer digesters), increases revenues (more biogas), lowers operating costs (fewer digesters, lower disposal costs), and reduces GHG emissions.
Metro Vancouver has placed a $3.2 million order to install MicroSludge at its Lulu Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, one of five wastewater treatment plants that it owns and operates.
|Product Service Offerings:|
|MicroSludge enables faster and more complete anaerobic digestion of waste activated sludge. In addition, MicroSludge enables digesters to process sludge with much higher solids content, thereby increasing digester throughput. The combination of these factors enhances the economics of anaerobic digestion in several ways:
- Reduced capital costs – increases (by up to 4 times) the processing capacity of expensive anaerobic digesters.
- Higher revenue - increases (by 20% to 100%) the production of biogas, a clean and renewable energy source of biomethane or electricity and heat.
- Lower operating costs – reduces (? 20 to 30%) the tonnage of residual sludge, thereby reducing dewatering cost and trucking cost to landfills, incinerators, or farm land application.
- Lower carbon/ environmental footprint – reduces (? 30%) greenhouse gas emissions and reduces odours of residual sludge by approximately 70%.
|Business Development Objectives|
|Metro Vancouver has placed a $3.2 million order to install MicroSludge at its Lulu Island Wastewater Treatment Plant, one of five wastewater treatment plants that it owns and operates.
Paradigm’s business focus over the next two years is to secure multiple reference sites in key industrial and municipal markets to drive widespread industry adoption of MicroSludge. The Company also looks to develop sales channels through established suppliers to the wastewater treatment industry, particularly in emerging overseas markets, and to provide turnkey solutions for industrial customers to generate both immediate and recurring revenue.
