Carlo Dal Monte

Director of Energy, Catalyst Paper Corp., Canada

Carlo Dal Monte is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters in Engineering-Pulp & Paper from the University of British Columbia.  He has over 17 years of experience in the Pulp & Paper industry, all with Catalyst Paper.  He worked in various technical and production roles at the Elk Falls mill for 11 years, eventually becoming Pulp Mill Manager for the site.  He then assumed the role of Paper Machine Manager of the coated paper machine at Port Alberni for 3 years.

In 2008 Carlo became the Director of Energy for Catalyst Paper with oversight of energy purchases and consumption for BC Hydro's largest customer and the largest processor of wood residues in South Coast and Vancouver Island region.  In addition to his role at Catalyst Paper he has also participated in the Electricity Climate Action Working Group, the Electricity Conservation and Efficiency Advisory Committee and is presently the chairman of the Association of Major Power Customers of BC (formerly JIESC).
