Teresa Coady

Principal & President, B+H BuntingCoady Architects, Canada

Teresa Coady is the President and Founding Partner of B+H BuntingCoady Architects, one of Canada's leading sustainable architectural design practices. Recognized as an innovator in sustainable and energy-efficient design, Ms. Coady is responsible for pioneering the Integrated Design Process (IDP), as presented at the Globe 1998 Conference, which successfully involves the client in all aspects of design and construction.

Her vision, to create 'Living Breathing Buildings'™, is behind the firm's development of such landmark projects as the award-winning UBC Life Sciences Centre, the NRC Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation, the Vancouver Port Authority Head Office, the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Cloverdale Campus and the Douglas Border Crossing.

Teresa has worked to develop the City of Vancouver Action Plan and City Building Standards. Coady is the only architect to serve on the British Columbia Provincial Government's Climate Action Team (CAT). Under Ms. Coady's leadership, B+H Bunting Coady Architects has won over 50 awards for design quality and building performance, including the BOMA Earth Award on four separate occasions.

Teresa is an active board member with the United Nations UNEP-SBCI and with the International Initiative Sustainable Building Expo (iiSBE).   Teresa has over 50 publications, numerous television and video appearances, and is actively involved as a teacher and lecturer.
