Xavier Bonnet

Head of the Economic Department, Embassy of France in Canada

Xavier Bonnet was appointed Head of Economic Services in Canada in September 2018, located at the French Embassy to Ottawa, on behalf of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance in France.

Previously, he occupied various managerial positions within the general direction of the treasury, to follow macroeconomic and financial subjects and to design and evaluate sectoral policies (2005-2012). He also spent six years (2012-2018) in charge of economic matters for the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

Graduated from the polytechnic school in 1992 and the national school of statistics and economic administration in 1994, he thus cumulated a Master in engineering sciences and a Master in economic sciences.

Married to Bérengère and father of two teenagers, Xavier Bonnet and his family enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities in Canada.
