Jeffrey Orser is the Director of Services to Business at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), a special operating agency that is part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. He is currently responsible for CIPO’s Intellectual Property Awareness and Education Program overseeing business development and partnerships as well as the development of tools and resources that enable businesses and entrepreneurs to learn and strategical leverage intellectual property.
A CIPO employee since 2003, he has occupied numerous positions within the Patent, Trademarks, and Business Services Branches including: Electrical Patent Examiner; Senior Patent Examiner; Patent Section Head; Deputy Director of Trademarks Examination, and Manager for Sectoral Business Development. Prior to joining CIPO, he worked as an Integrated Circuit Designer for a start-up that built rule-based network classification semiconductor devices.
Jeffrey holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Science (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Ottawa.
