We will explore cross-sector perspectives on how finance mechanisms and partnerships can enable the role of water and nature as an economic and workforce engine. The workshop will also cover the challenges and opportunities of existing and emerging funding models that can bring together public, private and philanthropic sources. This workshop is for anyone who is interested in or working on watershed stewardship, conservation, nature strategy and sustainable finance.

Today, that not only means ensuring our utilities, power grids and transportation systems are reliable – they must also be sustainable. In this armchair dialogue we’ll unpack the role of infrastructure in enhancing water security and reducing emissions, as we transition to a more resilient, net-zero energy future.

In this interactive discussion, amplifying Indigenous Clean Energy and the Canadian Climate Institute’s Health Energy Homes project, expert panelists will explore the connections between housing, health outcomes, clean energy, and energy efficiency. They will explore innovative solutions to address a concern Indigenous Peoples have been raising for decades—poor quality homes are causing severe health impacts in Indigenous communities across Canada. The session will delve into how energy efficiency solutions go “beyond sustainability” to not only mitigate greenhouse gas emissions but also address poor health outcomes, build climate resilience, and create economic benefits.

Energy providers, Indigenous communities, all levels of government, industry and other stakeholders are working to lower emissions and support a prosperous transition to a lower-carbon economy. In this session, we’ll discuss the innovative solutions and approaches that will allow us to leverage our natural gas infrastructure to enable this transition. Join us to uncover how we can collaborate to build on the strengths of the gas and electricity systems and provide safe, reliable and affordable low-carbon energy for British Columbians.

Supply chains for the energy transition are under stress in Canada and around the world. We need new business models for a net-zero economy. Join large corporates, Canadian SMEs (small-medium-enterprises), business associations, and public policy experts at this interactive roundtable to identify opportunities for optimizing procurement processes and supply chain performance.
