Involving industry is imperative if we are to achieve a circular economy for plastic. Innovation in the development of new plastic resins, product design, collection and sorting systems, and recycling options, including chemical recycling, are critical to keeping plastics in the economy and out of the environment. Panelists will discuss how these innovations and industry efforts to address ocean plastic waste in developing countries are creating opportunities for developed countries to meaningfully achieve zero plastic waste.
