Virginie has spent over 20 years working in agriculture and food systems—as a non-profit leader, local government employee, advisor, researcher, and farmer. At FCS, she focuses on convening and leading innovative projects that explore forward-thinking approaches to help farmers improve environmental outcomes and respond to the challenges of climate change. Using her background in project management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, she aims to help deepen and strengthen the FCS network, and drive organizational growth and impact.
Virginie holds a BA in Human Ecology, with a focus on global climate policy and agriculture, and an MA from Concordia University in food system planning. She co-founded Wind Whipped Farm, a market garden on Vancouver Island, and previously served as the City of Victoria’s first Food Systems Coordinator, implementing a variety of food system initiatives. Virginie is passionate about cultivating connections across the agriculture sector to support farmers and advance resilient, sustainable food systems.
