Dr. Maryia Halubok is a project manager in the agriculture and agri-food sector at CSA Group (Canadian Standards Association). In this role, Maryia supports standards development activities in agri-food data and soil health, and leads several initiatives related to food loss and waste. Maryia holds a PhD in Geosciences from the University of Texas at Austin, where she focused on plant productivity estimation using solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence.
She has over a decade of experience in environmental data analysis and modelling in academia. Her previous work has included improving wetland methane emissions modelling in Canadian climate models and leveraging machine learning techniques for walnut harvest estimation.
In addition to her professional work, Maryia has volunteered with social justice organizations, including mentoring in the UT Austin STEM Muse program, which connects women in STEM higher education with more advanced professionals, fostering a sense of community, and offering professional growth opportunities.
