Getting to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 is our generational moon shot – and our most urgent imperative. Achieving this goal will not only help us avoid the worst impacts of climate change…if done thoughtfully, it will also usher in new job opportunities, a more prosperous and sustainable economy, and a better quality of life for all.

We’re heading in the right direction. Most countries are committed to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement, including net-zero emissions by 2050. Leading organizations and jurisdictions are also making increasingly ambitious commitments to reduce their GHG emissions.

We need to build on this progress and accelerate action, especially considering the opportunity to build back better post-COVID. No one organization or government or initiative can do it alone. We need to share and scale ideas, solutions and practices across sectors and regions.

Our constellation of organizations – The Delphi Group, GLOBE Series, the EXCEL Partnership, and Leading Change Canada, with our partner CBSR – is uniquely positioned to serve as Canada’s how-to hub for net-zero pledges and practices. We connect business and government leaders with the right advice, solutions, technologies and partners so that, together, we can create a net-zero future.

Light Road Thumbnail

It has been said that it’s the journey, not the destination, that matters. When it comes to achieving net-zero emissions, it’s both. This virtual event featured lessons from Canadian business leaders on how to set and achieve credible and rigorous net-zero and science-based targets.

This timely conversation was between Trevor McLeod, Director, ESG & Public Policy at Enbridge, Chantale Després, Director – Sustainability at CN, and Tim Faveri, Vice President, Sustainability & Shared Value at Maple Leaf Foods. The session was moderated by Ted Ferguson, President of The Delphi Group, and featured tips on strategies for developing the internal processes and business case for establishing rigorous targets from Delphi Sustainability Consultant, Puninda Thind.
