Chris Ireland is a Director in Infrastructure and Natural Resources specifically responsible for investments in Greenfield and Renewables. Chris has worked with many of our portfolio companies in his years at OTPP. He led the acquisition and establishment of Cubico Sustainable Investments which now holds approximately 2 GW of renewables and now is a board member and Chair of the Investment Committee of Cubico. He also led the investment in Anbaric Development Partners, a US transmission and microgrid developer, and First Infrastructure Capital, a unique partnership with Quanta Services. He serves on the board of Cubico, BluEarth Renewables, and Anbaric and has been a board member on seven other Ontario Teachers’ portfolio companies. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers’, Chris was an investment banker, a project developer for fossil and renewable power projects, and an engineer for a large EPC company.
Chris earned a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.A.Sc. in Atmospheric Fluid Mechanics both from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a Professional Engineer.
