Profoundry announces Elizabeth Gamble as CEO

Long-time leader Mike Gerbis transitions to Executive Chair

Elizabeth Gamble is stepping up as CEO of Profoundry, a collective of like-minded organizations including Delphi, GLOBE, Leading Change and Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR). Former CEO and long-time Profoundry leader, Mike Gerbis, will transition to Executive Chair. The announcement is part of a series of leadership changes as Profoundry enters its next chapter of purpose-driven work.

Elizabeth has served as President of GLOBE since 2020, setting strategic direction and leading the team responsible for its signature sustainability events. In previous roles, she worked with Canada’s electricity generators to phase out coal-fired emissions; contributed to the development of Alberta’s Climate Plan; and developed the framework, strategy, and business plan for Emissions Reduction Alberta to invest millions into emissions-reducing technology.

“I am honoured and humbled to lead our incredible team at Profoundry into this next chapter. We’ll continue to be grounded in our purpose, driven by collaboration, and focused on creating a clean, competitive economy. I look forward to building upon Mike’s legacy,” said Elizabeth.

In the Executive Chair position, Mike will focus on attracting investment to the organization and providing guidance and mentorship to the next generation of leaders. Over three decades, Mike has served in various leadership positions at Profoundry, and advised senior executives, domestic and international leaders, corporations, and governments on how to create long-term value by addressing environmental, social, and economic risks and opportunities.

“In my time as CEO, I’ve been proud of our work to advance a sustainable and socially just future. I’m excited to turn my attention to governance and mentorship,” said Gerbis. “I’m thrilled to pass the baton to Elizabeth, who will lead our group into this next phase of innovation and growth.”

Additional leadership shifts include:

  • Caroline Vanasse is taking on the role of Vice President of Convening, responsible for GLOBE’s day-to-day strategy and operations, and for growing and supporting our convening services.
  • Carol-Ann Brown is stepping back as Delphi’s President and will work directly with clients as Executive Advisor, Strategic Projects and Client Relations.
  • Garrett Jones, Vice President, Corporate Sustainability and Finance, Consulting Strategic Lead, and Stephan Wehr, Vice President, Carbon and Climate Risk, Consulting Operations Lead, will head up Delphi’s consulting business.

Rounding out the leadership team, Martha Hancock will continue to serve as Managing Director of CBSR, Carolyn Hotchkiss is Leading Change’s General Manager, Melissa Harris is Vice President, Operations and Culture, and Alice Martin is Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
