A certified public accountant (CPA), Mr. Aliff has provided professional services in accounting and auditing, regulatory strategy development, rate case preparation, expert testimony on a variety of accounting and financial subjects, and acquisition due diligence services. Mr. Aliff has testified as an expert witness before a number of state regulatory commissions and has also appeared before the Canadian National Energy Board and the U.S. Tax Court. Greg serves as and visor to senior management and the Audit Committees of energy and utilities clients, with a focus on emerging developments that impart corporate strategies and enterprise risk processes and considerations. He also leads Deloitte’s annual reSources survey of businesses and consumer attitudes and behaviors regarding electricity providers and electricity usage. He is the author of Deloitte’s recent reports: The Math Does Not Lie – Factoring the future of the U.S. electric power industry and Beyond the Math – Preparing for disruption and innovation in the U.S. electric power industry.

A member of the Board of Directors of the United States Energy Association, Mr. Aliff is co-author of the annually updated industry reference book Accounting for Public Utilities, published by Matthew Bender since 1983. His articles and commentary have appeared in Electric Light & Power, Electric Perspectives, The National Interest and Public Utilities Fortnightly. During his 37-year career he has appeared on industry programs sponsored by organizations such as the American Gas Association, Edison Electric Institute, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, the United States Energy Association and Corporate Board Member (an NYSE Euronext Company).
A graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, he holds both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration.
