Stephanie Leaist manages CPPIB’s sustainable investing activities, and was a part of the Financial Stability Board’s Task Force on Climate Disclosure. Ms. Leaist will draw on her in-depth knowledge of the sustainability investment and reporting world to moderate a discussion on accounting for climate risk in infrastructure investments.
CPPIB’s sustainable investing activities are managed by Stephanie Leaist, including direct and collaborative engagements, proxy voting and the integration of environmental, social and governance factors across all of CPPIB’s investment activities.
In a prior role at CPPIB from 2002 to 2012, Stephanie was a Senior Principal in the Private Investments department. In that role, Stephanie was instrumental in building CPPIB’s private equity funds portfolio, developing its global private equity funds strategy and participating on numerous fund Advisory Boards.
Prior to joining CPPIB in 2002, Stephanie was principal of Ludwick & Leaist Inc., a corporate consulting firm. She also practiced corporate/commercial and securities law with McCarthy Tétrault, and earned her Chartered Accountant designation with Coopers & Lybrand. Stephanie holds her Bachelor of Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Toronto.
